What does F36 mean?
An option card is either incorrect, missing, or has incompatible settings for its setpoint source, control signal, or operating mode. This fault indicates a configuration mismatch or hardware absence, leading to an immediate switch-off with inhibit.
Common Causes
- Installation of an unsupported or incorrect type of option card
- Setpoint source, control signal source, or operating mode parameters are incompatible with the installed option card
- Required option card (e.g., FBG11B, FIO12B, FIO21B) is not present
- Front module FIO21B is not supplied with power

Install the correct type of option card for the application.

Verify parameters for setpoint source, control signal source, and operating mode are compatible with the installed option card.

Check parameters P120 and P121 for general option card configuration.

If FBG11B is used, check parameter P121. If FIO12B is used, check P120 and P642.
- 5
If FIO21B is installed, set parameter P808 to "On" or supply the basic unit with external 24V.
