Start-up prevented

Vacon · NXS NXP AC Drive

What does 26 mean?

The drive's start-up sequence has been inhibited, typically because a run request signal was active while a new application program was being downloaded or after a configuration change. This is a safety feature designed to prevent unintended motor starts. The drive will not initiate operation until this preventative condition is safely resolved.

Common Causes

  • A run command (e.g., digital input DI1, fieldbus command) is active while parameters are being modified or a new application program is being downloaded.
  • Safety function (e.g., STO - Safe Torque Off) is active or has just been deactivated, but the drive still awaits a power cycle or reset acknowledge.
  • Parameter changes requiring a power cycle or specific acknowledgment sequence (e.g., P0-00 setting change) have been made, but not completed.
  • A "Quick Stop" or "Emergency Stop" command was recently active and has not been properly reset or acknowledged.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify all run commands (e.g., digital inputs, fieldbus commands, local control panel) are deactivated before attempting further configuration or power cycling.

  2. 2

Check the status of safety inputs (e.g., OPTAF board inputs, dedicated STO terminals) and ensure they are in a safe (inactive) state, then cycle power if required.

  3. 3

Confirm any critical parameter changes (e.g., P0-00 for application type) have been saved to EEPROM and the drive has been power cycled as prompted.

  4. 4

Reset any active "Quick Stop" or "Emergency Stop" conditions via their respective inputs or software commands.

  5. 5

Review parameter settings related to start-up control (e.g., P2-01 "Start function") to ensure they align with the current operational mode.
