Device Added (Different Type)
Vacon · 100 FLOW Application Guide
What does 45 mean?
A new power unit or option board (in slot C, D, or E) of a *different type* has been added or detected in the drive. Similar to 'Device changed (different type),' this means parameters for the new device are not saved or compatible, requiring initial configuration. Without proper setup, the added device will not function correctly.
Common Causes
- A new option board or power unit of a different type has been physically added to slot C, D, or E without the corresponding parameter configuration.
- Parameter P2.1.1 (Slot C type), P2.2.1 (Slot D type), or P2.3.1 (Slot E type) is not correctly set to acknowledge the new device's type.
- The drive has detected an unrecognized or incompatible device ID in an expansion slot (C, D, or E) that was previously empty or held a different device.
- Incompatibility between the firmware of the newly added device and the drive's current main control unit firmware version.
Repair Steps & Checklist

4. If the device was added unintentionally or is incorrect for the application, power down the drive and remove it from slot C, D, or E.
