n-Monitoring
SEW Eurodrive · MOVIDRIVE compact System (MCF/MCV/MCS4_A)
What does 08 mean?
Immediate switch-off because the speed controller or current controller is operating at its setting limit. This can be due to mechanical overload, a phase failure in the power supply or motor, an incorrectly connected encoder, or exceeding the maximum speed (nmax) during torque control.
Common Causes
- Motor speed (n) is not within the expected monitored range during operation.
- Discrepancy between commanded speed and actual motor speed.
- Faulty speed feedback mechanism or motor performance deviation.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Reduce the mechanical load on the motor.
- 2
Increase the deceleration time setting (P501 or P503) to allow for longer deceleration.
- 3
Check the encoder connection; if necessary, swap A/A and B/B signal pairs to correct direction.
- 4
Verify the encoder voltage supply is stable and within specifications.
- 5
Check the current limitation settings (e.g., P303 for maximum current).
- 6
Extend acceleration/deceleration ramps if current limits are being hit.
