Over temperature
Fronius · Primo GEN24
What does 603 mean?
The Fronius Primo GEN24 208-240 inverter has detected an internal temperature exceeding its safe operating limits. This protective measure prevents damage to internal components and will cause the inverter to reduce power or shut down.
Common Causes
- Over temperature in the inverter.
- Inverter exposed to direct sunlight.
- Poor ventilation at the installation site.
- Dirty fan (see status code 601).
- Ambient temperature too high.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the Fronius Primo GEN24 208-240 inverter is installed in a location with adequate ventilation and is not exposed to prolonged direct sunlight, especially during peak temperature hours.
- 2
Check that the inverter's cooling fins and fan vents are free from dust, debris, or any obstructions that could hinder airflow. Clean if necessary.
- 3
Ensure the ambient temperature around the inverter is within its specified operating range. Consider passive or active cooling solutions if ambient temperatures are consistently high.
- 4
Refer to status code 601 and perform fan checks if applicable, as a faulty fan can contribute to overheating.
- 5
Reduce the inverter's output power temporarily if possible, allowing it to cool down, and observe if the fault clears.
