CPF02

Baseblock Circuit Fault

Yaskawa · E7 Drive

¿Qué significa CPF02 ?

A baseblock circuit fault was detected at power-up, indicating a gate array hardware failure within the drive during its startup sequence. This is a critical internal drive component failure, rendering the drive inoperable.

Causas comunes

  • Internal gate array or control circuit failure on the drive's main control board (a non-user-serviceable hardware component).
  • Short circuit within the drive's power section (e.g., IGBTs, DC bus capacitors) detected by the baseblock monitoring logic at power-up.
  • Power supply transient during initial power-up causing an anomaly that triggers the baseblock fault.
  • Defective drive control board preventing the baseblock circuit from correctly clearing its startup checks.
  • Accumulation of conductive dust or foreign material inside the drive, causing internal short circuits or component degradation.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Power down the drive, wait for DC bus capacitors to fully discharge (verify 0VDC at P/N terminals), then power up again to attempt a reset.

  2. 2

Visually inspect the drive's control board and power section for any signs of burned components, swollen capacitors, or foreign objects.

  3. 3

Measure the resistance between output terminals U, V, W and between each output terminal and the DC bus (+) and (-) terminals (P, N) with power off; any short indicates IGBT failure.

  4. 4

Ensure the drive's input power is stable and within specifications, checking for voltage sags or surges during power-on with a power quality meter.

  5. 5

If no external or simple internal issue is found, consider the drive's main control board or power module as faulty, requiring specialist repair or unit replacement.
