Operator Connection Error

Omron · MX2 Inverter

¿Qué significa E40 ?

This fault occurs when the communication between the inverter and its operator keypad (either integrated or external) fails. This interruption in communication prevents control and monitoring functions, causing the inverter to trip and display this error code.

Causas comunes

  • Loose or damaged cable connecting an external operator keypad to the inverter's RJ-45 or terminal block port.
  • Faulty internal keypad ribbon cable or contact pads for integrated keypads.
  • Incorrect keypad communication parameters (e.g., H5-01 Communication protocol selection) set in the inverter, causing a mismatch.
  • Damage to the inverter's communication interface hardware or the keypad module itself.
  • Electromagnetic interference (EMI) disrupting serial communication lines between the inverter and keypad.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Power down the inverter, then disconnect and securely re-connect the operator keypad cable to both the keypad and the inverter's communication port.

  2. 2

    2. Inspect the keypad cable for physical damage, cuts, or crushed sections; replace if any damage is found.

  3. 3

    3. Verify the keypad communication parameters (e.g., H5-01, H5-02, H5-03 for baud rate/address) match the keypad type and communication settings.

  4. 4

    4. Try an alternative keypad (if available and compatible) to rule out a faulty keypad unit.

  5. 5

    5. Ensure proper grounding and shielding for the keypad communication cable, especially in noisy industrial environments.
