CPF00

Operator Communication Fault 1

Yaskawa · E7 Drive

What does CPF00 mean?

Transmission between the Drive and the digital operator cannot be established within 5 seconds after supplying power. This suggests issues with the digital operator cable, the operator itself, or the control board, preventing local interaction and display.

Common Causes

  • Digital operator cable (e.g., RJ45) is disconnected, damaged, or improperly seated at either the drive's port or the operator panel.
  • Faulty digital operator panel itself, preventing it from successfully initializing communication with the drive.
  • Internal communication hardware failure on the drive's control board, preventing it from responding to the operator.
  • Incorrect communication protocol or address settings if multiple operators or non-standard configurations are attempted.
  • Drive's control power supply issue preventing the control board from fully initializing communication services.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the digital operator cable is securely connected at both the drive's operator port and the digital operator panel.

  2. 2

Test the digital operator cable for continuity and proper pinout using a cable tester, especially if it is a custom length.

  3. 3

Try connecting a known-good digital operator panel to the drive to isolate whether the fault lies with the operator or the drive.

  4. 4

Visually inspect the drive's internal control board for any visible damage or signs of component failure.

  5. 5

Measure the drive's internal 24VDC control supply voltage (if accessible and safe) to confirm proper power to the control board.
