Option Fault

Mitsubishi Electric · FR-A800 Troubleshooting Course

What does E.OPT mean?

This fault occurs when an incompatible or non-existent regenerative option is selected in parameter E300 (Pr.30), such as a high-efficiency converter or power supply regeneration common converter, but no such option is connected or detected by the FR-A800 inverter. The inverter will trip to prevent incorrect operation.

Common Causes

  • Parameter E300 (Pr.30) (Regenerative function selection) is incorrectly set to '2' (high efficiency converter or power supply regeneration common converter connection) without the corresponding hardware connected.
  • Faulty or improperly connected regenerative option unit.
  • Internal FR-A800 inverter hardware issue related to option detection.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify parameter E300 (Pr.30) (Regenerative function selection) matches the installed hardware. If no external regenerative option is connected, set E300 (Pr.30) to '0' (built-in brake).

  2. 2

If a regenerative option is installed, inspect its wiring and connections to the FR-A800 inverter for looseness or damage.

  3. 3

Consult the manual for the specific regenerative option for its diagnostic indicators and troubleshooting.

  4. 4

If the issue persists after verifying settings and connections, consider replacing the regenerative option unit or the inverter if the fault points to internal issues.
