28834

Analog output 2 fault

Lenze · i550 Protec Drive

What does 28834 mean?

An open circuit or short circuit condition has been detected at analog output 2. This could prevent proper signal transmission to connected devices.

Common Causes

  • Open circuit in the wiring connecting Analog Output 2 (e.g., X4.3, X4.4) to the external receiving device.
  • Short circuit between the Analog Output 2 signal line and ground, or another adjacent conductor.
  • The input of the connected receiving device is shorted internally, placing an excessive load on Analog Output 2.
  • Overload on Analog Output 2 due to an improper load impedance, drawing current beyond the output's rating.
  • Sustained overvoltage or overcurrent conditions on Analog Output 2 leading to component failure.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Isolate Analog Output 2 by disconnecting the load and measure the voltage or current at terminals (e.g., X4.3, X4.4) with a multimeter.

  2. 2

Test the continuity of the wiring from Analog Output 2 to the receiving device to check for breaks or short circuits.

  3. 3

Measure the input impedance of the device connected to Analog Output 2 to ensure it is compatible with the drive's output capabilities.

  4. 4

Apply a specific command value to Analog Output 2 (e.g., 5V, 12mA) and observe the actual output signal with a multimeter.

  5. 5

Verify proper grounding and shielding practices for the Analog Output 2 signal cable to prevent induced shorts or current loops.
