F262

Digital Output Overcurrent/Short Circuit

Indramat · ECODRIVE Controller

What does F262 mean?

This fault indicates that a digital output on the drive controller has exceeded its permissible current limit or experienced a short circuit. The drive triggers a shutdown to protect the output circuitry from damage. The specific current limit may vary depending on the output channel, with some outputs having a limit of 350mA and others 80mA.

Common Causes

  • A short circuit present on one of the digital outputs.
  • The load connected to a digital output draws excessive current, exceeding its specified limit (e.g., > 350mA or > 80mA).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Identify the specific digital output causing the fault.

  2. 2

Disconnect the load from the affected digital output and measure the current draw of the load separately, ensuring it is within the specified limits (<350mA or <80mA).

  3. 3

Check the wiring connected to the digital output for any short circuits to ground or to other potentials using a multimeter.

  4. 4

Replace the faulty load device if it is drawing excessive current or has an internal short circuit.
