Positioning Velocity Exceeds Bipolar Speed Limit
Indramat · ECODRIVE Controller
What does E249 mean?
In "drive-internal interpolation" and "block-controlled mode", a positioning speed must be entered in parameter S-0-0259. This warning is generated if the value set in S-0-0259, Positioning speed, exceeds the permissible maximum value defined in S-0-0091, bipolar speed limit value. This indicates a potential attempt to command a speed beyond the drive's or application's safe operating limits.
Common Causes
- The parameter S-0-0259 (Positioning speed) is set to a value greater than S-0-0091 (bipolar speed limit value).
- The parameter S-0-4007 (process block speed) is set to a value greater than S-0-0091 (bipolar speed limit value).
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Reduce the value of parameter S-0-0259 (Positioning speed) to be less than or equal to the value of S-0-0091 (bipolar speed limit value).
- 2
Alternatively, reduce the value of parameter S-0-4007 (process block speed) to be less than or equal to S-0-0091 (bipolar speed limit value).
- 3
Review the application's maximum speed requirements and ensure that S-0-0091 is correctly parameterized for the motor and mechanics.
