S-0-0011 Bit 1

Amplifier Over Temperature Shutdown

Indramat · dds 2.1 digital servo drive User Manual

What does S-0-0011 Bit 1 mean?

A Class 1 Diagnostic indicating a shutdown error because the power stage section of the DDS 2.1 drive has reached an excessively high temperature. This shutdown typically follows an 'Amplifier Over Temperature Warning' (diagnostic '50') that persisted for more than 30 seconds. The drive immediately decelerates to zero speed and shuts down torque. This condition is reset only after the cause is cleared and the command 'Reset Class 1 Diagnostics' is received via the service channel.

Common Causes

  • Insufficient heat dissipation within the control cabinet where the DDS 2.1 drive is mounted.
  • Failure or malfunction of the DDS 2.1 internal cooling fan.
  • Failure or inadequate performance of the cabinet's air conditioning or heat exchanger unit.
  • Incorrect sizing of the cabinet's climate control system (air conditioner or heat exchanger) for the installed components.
  • Blocked ventilation openings or obstructed airflow around the drive or within the cabinet.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the DDS 2.1 internal cooling fan for proper operation; replace the DDS 2.1 if the fan is faulty.

  2. 2

Check the functioning and efficiency of the cabinet's air conditioner or heat exchanger unit.

  3. 3

Verify that the control cabinet is adequately sized and provides sufficient air circulation for heat dissipation.

  4. 4

Ensure all ventilation openings on the drive and cabinet are clear of obstructions.

  5. 5

Monitor the ambient temperature within the cabinet and drive to confirm they are within specified operating limits.
