S-0-0011 Bit 0

Overload Shutdown

Indramat · dds 2.1 digital servo drive User Manual

What does S-0-0011 Bit 0 mean?

A Class 1 Diagnostic indicating a shutdown error due to the DDS 2.1 drive or motor operating beyond its specified continuous load limits. The drive decelerates to zero speed and subsequently shuts down torque. This condition is reset only after the cause is cleared and the command 'Reset Class 1 Diagnostics' is received via the service channel.

Common Causes

  • Motor or machine is mechanically overloaded, exceeding its nominal torque rating for an extended period.
  • Incorrect motor or drive sizing for the application, leading to continuous operation near or above current limits.
  • Acceleration/deceleration ramps are too aggressive, causing high peak currents.
  • Mechanical binding or excessive friction in the load, increasing required torque.
  • Incorrect current limits or overload parameters (e.g., P-0-0006 Overload Factor) configured in the drive.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the motor and drive sizing against the application's continuous and peak torque requirements.

  2. 2

Inspect the mechanical system for any binding, excessive friction, or blockages that could increase the load.

  3. 3

Review the acceleration and deceleration ramp parameters in the control unit to ensure they are appropriate for the application.

  4. 4

Check drive parameters related to current limits and overload protection (e.g., P-0-0006 Overload Factor) to ensure they match motor and application specifications.

  5. 5

Monitor motor current during operation to identify periods of excessive load and adjust the application or drive settings accordingly.
