ILLEGAL COMMAND IN FLEXIBLE PATH AXIS ASSIGNMENT
Fanuc · Series 0i-MODEL F Plus Parameter
What does PS0514 mean?
This alarm signals an illegal command during flexible path axis assignment when an attempt is made to assign an axis to a path where it is already present. This condition triggers the alarm when parameter 11563 bit #4 (FAX) is set to 0, preventing the system from ignoring the redundant command.
Common Causes
- An illegal command has been detected within the flexible path axis assignment feature.
- The CNC program or control logic attempted to assign an axis to a flexible path function that is not permitted by the system's configuration.
- A command sequence related to axis remapping or flexible path control contains an error, such as attempting to assign a non-existent axis.
- Parameter settings (e.g., P8-XX) governing flexible path axis assignments have been violated by an invalid command.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check parameter 11563 bit #4 (FAX). If it is set to 0, the system will issue an alarm if an axis assignment command targets a path where the axis already exists.
- 2
If the desired behavior is to ignore assignment commands for axes already on the target path, set parameter 11563 bit #4 (FAX) to 1.
- 3
Before issuing a flexible path axis assignment command, verify the current assignment status of the target axis to avoid redundant assignments and prevent this alarm.
