Process PID sleep mode

What does AF8C mean?

The drive is entering sleep mode as part of its process PID control function. This is an informative warning, indicating normal operation when conditions allow for energy saving. It does not signify a fault requiring intervention.

• The process feedback value (e.g., pressure, level) has reached or exceeded the PID setpoint, and the motor speed has dropped below the configured sleep speed threshold (P1-60).
• The PID output has remained at or near its minimum limit (e.g., 0% output) for a duration exceeding the configured sleep delay time (P1-61).
• Energy-saving function of the embedded PID controller is actively engaged, as designed, due to low or no demand from the process.
• The PID 'Wake-up' threshold (P1-62) has not been reached, preventing the drive from resuming normal operation.

   Verify the PID sleep speed threshold (P1-60) and sleep delay time (P1-61) parameters are set appropriately for the application's energy-saving requirements.

   Monitor the actual process feedback value (e.g., AI1 current) and compare it against the PID setpoint to understand why the motor speed is low.

   Confirm the PID wake-up threshold (P1-62) is correctly configured to bring the drive out of sleep mode when process demand increases.
