What does 42F1 mean?
The drive's internal IGBT temperature has exceeded its safe operating limit, indicating potential overheating. This can lead to reduced lifespan or premature failure of the IGBTs if the root cause is not identified and resolved promptly.
Common Causes
- Insufficient cooling due to a faulty internal cooling fan, blocked heatsinks, or high ambient temperature.
- Sustained operation at or above the drive's rated output current (P7-01), leading to excessive power dissipation in IGBTs.
- Overloaded motor application, forcing the drive to deliver high current continuously.
- Incorrect motor parameter settings (e.g., P1-02, P1-03) leading to inefficient motor control and higher drive losses.
- Dust and debris accumulation on the heatsink fins, impeding heat transfer.

Allow the drive to cool down completely. Verify the ambient temperature in the control cabinet is within the drive's specification.

Check for proper operation of all internal cooling fans. Clean any dust or debris from the drive's heatsink fins and ventilation openings with compressed air.
