OC

Overcurrent Fault

Yaskawa · E7 Drive

What does OC mean?

This fault indicates an excessive current draw, which can lead to motor and drive damage if not promptly addressed. It can occur during momentary power loss recovery, DC Injection Braking, or during acceleration if the mechanical load is too large or the acceleration time is set too short. The drive will trip and stop operation upon detection of this fault.

Additional Steps

Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.

  1. 3

Check the mechanical load on the motor for any obstruction, binding, or excessive demands that could cause current spikes.

  2. 4

Verify motor parameters (e.g., E2-01 Motor Rated Current, E2-03 No Load Current) are correctly set in the drive and accurately match the motor nameplate data.

  3. 5

Inspect motor windings for shorts, insulation breakdown, or other electrical issues that could lead to high current.
