Control Panel setpoint fault
Siemens · SINAMICS G120
What does F00073 mean?
The drive is not receiving setpoint values from the Control Panel within the specified telegram off time. This indicates a communication issue or incorrect timing between the control panel and the drive, causing a loss of command signals and controlled operation, thus preventing manual control.
Common Causes
- Loose or faulty physical connection of the drive's operator panel (e.g., BOP-2, IOP-2) to the drive unit.
- Hardware fault within the control panel itself, preventing it from sending setpoint commands or status updates correctly.
- Incorrect parameter configuration on the drive related to control source selection (e.g., P0700 not set to `1` for BOP/IOP control).
- The telegram off time setting (e.g., P0704 or P0705 for panel communication) is configured too short for the control panel's update rate.
- Electrical noise interfering with the panel's internal communication path to the drive's CPU.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Re-seat the control panel (e.g., BOP-2 or IOP-2) firmly onto the drive unit's designated slot, ensuring good electrical contact.
- 2
2. Verify drive parameter P0700 (Command source) is correctly set to `1` (BOP/IOP) or the appropriate value for the specific control panel type.
- 3
3. Check the control panel display for any self-diagnostic errors, blank screens, or freezing, which might indicate a panel hardware fault.
- 4
4. Increase the telegram off time parameter (e.g., P0704 for basic panel communication) in increments of 50ms and observe if the fault clears.
- 5
5. Test with a known good control panel if available to rule out a faulty panel unit as the source of the issue.
