Safety parameter changed
Siemens · SINAMICS G120
What does A01690 mean?
A safety-related parameter has been modified either during safety commissioning or a safety reset. This warning is issued to ensure that all safety changes are intentionally acknowledged and finalized, as unresolved changes can prevent the drive from entering a safe operational state, potentially compromising machine safety.
Common Causes
- A safety parameter (e.g., P0910 for STO, P0951 for SLS) was intentionally changed and requires acknowledgment via P0976.
- Safety function block in the PLC or safety controller was reconfigured, resulting in new safety parameter values sent to the drive.
- Drive firmware update that modifies internal safety parameter structures, requiring re-acknowledgment after the update.
- Memory corruption within the drive causing an unintentional change in safety parameter values that needs to be reset or acknowledged.
- Incorrect safety parameter upload from a backup file, leading to discrepancies between the stored and current values.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Review all safety-related parameters (e.g., those in the P09xx series) to identify which ones have been modified since the last acknowledgment.
- 2
2. Acknowledge the safety parameter changes by setting parameter P0976 (Safety acknowledge) to the required value (e.g., 1 or 2) after verifying them.
- 3
3. If safety parameters were changed via a PLC or safety controller, ensure the configuration matches the drive's expectations and then re-acknowledge.
- 4
4. Perform a safety commissioning procedure as detailed in the drive's safety manual, including signature generation if applicable.
- 5
5. If changes were unintentional, load the last known good safety parameter set from a backup file and then acknowledge the restore via P0976.
