SEW Eurodrive MOVI-PLC SyncCrane
9 fault codes documented
Hardware Limit Switch Approached
This fault indicates that a hardware limit switch has been activated, causing the drive inverter to enter status F29. Ongoing movements are immediately interrupted using the emergency stop ramp to prevent mechanical damage or overtravel.
Invalid Number of Axes
This fault indicates that the SyncCrane application solution has been configured with an invalid number of axes. The system explicitly supports a maximum of 8 axes for control. Selecting more than 8 axes will trigger this error.
Invalid Axis Selection
This fault occurs when an invalid axis number is selected for control. For group control, Process Output Data word PO3 must be set to 99. For single axis control, PO3 must be set to a value between 1 and 8, corresponding to the specific axis.
Software Limit Switch CW Exceeded
This fault indicates that the specified position or the actual position of an axis has moved beyond the defined clockwise (CW) software limit switch. This condition prevents further movement in the CW direction and halts the axis system to prevent overtravel.
Software Limit Switch CCW Exceeded
This fault indicates that the specified position or the actual position of an axis has moved beyond the defined counter-clockwise (CCW) software limit switch. This condition prevents further movement in the CCW direction and halts the axis system to prevent overtravel.
Fieldbus Timeout
This fault signals an interruption in the fieldbus communication between the MOVI-PLC® and the master controller. When this timeout occurs, all internal setpoints are cleared to ensure a safe state for the axis system. This diagnostic function cyclically monitors bus communication.
External Encoder Implausible Values
This fault indicates that the external encoder is providing implausible position or feedback values to the MOVI-PLC® system. This can be caused by issues such as wire breakage in draw-wire encoders. Upon detection, the axis system is automatically stopped if operating in automatic mode.
HMI Communication Failure
This fault indicates that communication was interrupted while accessing the wizard via the Human-Machine Interface (HMI). When this communication failure occurs, all internal setpoints are cleared, potentially causing an operational halt of the axis system.
Lag Error Exceeded
This fault occurs when the defined lag error window is exceeded in automatic mode. The lag error represents the distance from the external encoder position to the virtual master encoder position. Exceeding this set tolerance causes the axis system to stop to maintain synchronized operation.
