Autotuning fault
Schindler · Easy Altivar ATV310 Drive
What does F028 mean?
This ATV310 fault occurs when the drive's auto-tuning function fails to complete successfully. This can be caused by the motor not being properly connected, a motor phase loss during the tuning process, using a special motor type incompatible with standard autotuning, or the motor rotating during the tuning procedure.
Common Causes
- Motor is not connected to the drive output during the autotuning process
- Motor phase loss detected during the autotuning procedure
- Special motor type that is not compatible with the drive's standard autotuning algorithm
- Motor is rotating (e.g., being driven by the load) when autotuning is initiated
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check that the motor and drive are compatible for autotuning, referring to documentation.
- 2
Verify that the motor is physically connected to the drive's output terminals during the autotuning process.
- 3
If an output contactor is being used downstream of the drive, ensure it is closed and energized during auto-tuning.
- 4
Check that the motor is completely stopped and uncoupled from the load, if possible, before initiating autotuning.
