OVERSPEED FAULT

Otis · DSD 412 DC Elevator Drive

What does 97 mean?

The motor speed has exceeded the trip level configured in parameter #1, #11, or #12. Parameter #12 is a percentage of the motor speed value set in parameter #1, as measured by the encoder.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect setting of parameter #1, #11, or #12 above the motor's rated speed.
  • Poor speed regulator tuning, indicated by incorrect values in parameters #40, #41, or #42.
  • Velocity reference input is set above the motor's rated speed.
  • Intermittent operation or signal loss from the velocity encoder.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check parameters #1, #11, and #12 to ensure the trip level is set below the motor's rated speed.

  2. 2

Verify and adjust the speed regulator tuning parameters #40, #41, and #42.

  3. 3

Inspect the velocity encoder and its connections for any intermittent operation or loose wiring.
