Expansion Rack Address Duplication
Omron · SYSMAC CJ2 CPU Unit
What does A409.00 to A409.03 mean?
This flag turns ON when an Expansion Rack's starting word address, set in CX-Programmer, either overlaps with another Rack's allocation or exceeds the maximum address CIO 0901. Bits 00 to 03 correspond to Racks 0 to 3. The CPU Unit operation will stop and the ERR/ALM indicator on the front of the CPU Unit will light.
Common Causes
- Two different Expansion Racks are configured with overlapping starting word addresses in the I/O Table
- An Expansion Rack's starting address is set higher than CIO 0901, which is outside the permissible range
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Identify the affected Expansion Rack(s) by checking the ON status of A409.00 to A409.03 (Bits 00-03 for Racks 0-3)
- 2
Access the PLC Setup or I/O Table in CX-Programmer to review the starting word addresses for all Expansion Racks
- 3
Reconfigure the starting word addresses to ensure no overlap between Racks
- 4
Adjust the starting word address of the problematic Rack to be within the valid range (i.e., not exceeding CIO 0901)
