Dynamic Brake Circuit Fault (Power-up, Adv. Code 3,4,5)
Vacon · X4
Hva betyr 15 ?
This fault indicates a general malfunction within the Dynamic Braking (DB) circuit detected immediately upon drive power-up, and it is not auto-resettable. This suggests a significant internal component failure or wiring issue within the braking chopper or its control. This fault prevents the drive from starting and operating safely.
Vanlige årsaker
- Internal dynamic braking (DB) IGBT failure (e.g., short circuit or open circuit), detected during the drive's power-up self-test sequence.
- External dynamic braking resistor (DBR) is short-circuited or has significantly lower resistance than specified, causing an overcurrent condition upon internal activation.
- Open circuit in the dynamic braking resistor circuit (e.g., cable breakage to DBR, faulty DBR element), preventing proper current path detection by the drive.
- Drive's internal gate driver circuit fault for the dynamic braking IGBT, preventing correct switching or current sensing.
- Incorrectly rated or specified DBR connected, leading to current sensing discrepancies that trigger the fault upon power-up diagnostics.
Reparasjonssteg & Sjekkliste
Klikk på steg for å spore fremgangen.
- 1
Power down the drive and wait for the DC bus voltage to discharge below 45VDC (verify with multimeter on DC+ and DC- terminals).
- 2
Disconnect the external dynamic braking resistor (DBR) from the drive's B1 and B2 terminals.
- 3
Measure the resistance of the disconnected DBR across its terminals using an ohmmeter. Compare the reading to the manufacturer's specified resistance value (e.g., 50 Ohms).
- 4
With the DBR disconnected, re-apply power to the drive and observe if the fault clears. If it does, the DBR or its connecting cables are suspect.
- 5
If the fault persists with the DBR disconnected, it indicates an internal drive component failure related to the DB circuit, requiring service or replacement of the drive unit.
