Fan fault (Only on 400 V 30–90kW)
Danfoss · VLT HVAC Basic FC 101
Hva betyr 24 ?
The frequency converter's internal cooling fan is either not running, seized, or improperly mounted, specifically affecting 400 V, 30–90 kW units. This protection function ensures adequate heat dissipation from the drive's components. Continued operation without a functioning fan will inevitably lead to critical overheating and premature failure of the frequency converter.
Vanlige årsaker
- Failure of the cooling fan motor due to seized bearings, open winding, or debris obstruction.
- Accumulation of dust and debris on fan blades, restricting airflow and causing overheating.
- Faulty power supply to the fan, originating from the drive's power card.
- Incorrect fan installed or improperly mounted, leading to reduced cooling efficiency (if fan was replaced).
- Control signal failure from the drive's control card to the fan module.

- 1
Power off the drive and disconnect input power. Manually attempt to spin the fan blades to check for mechanical binding.
- 2
Visually inspect the fan blades and shroud for any physical damage, obstructions (dust, lint), or signs of wear.
- 3
Measure the voltage at the fan's power connector (if accessible) when the drive is powered on and in operation (e.g., expect 24VDC or specific AC voltage).
- 4
Check the drive's internal fault log (e.g., P15-02 Fault Log) for any associated sub-codes or diagnostic messages related to fan operation.
- 5
If externally replaceable, replace the fan unit with an original manufacturer's spare part (check part number for exact match).
