Motor Stalled

Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 40 Adjustable Frequency

Hva betyr F6 ?

This fault indicates that the motor has stalled or is experiencing an excessive load, causing the drive output current to exceed the current limit set by parameter A089 [Current Limit]. This is an Auto-Reset/Run type fault configurable with parameters A092 and A093.

Vanlige årsaker

  • Mechanical jamming or excessive friction in the driven machinery preventing motor rotation (e.g., conveyor belt jam, pump cavitation).
  • Load torque exceeding the motor's rated torque capabilities, causing the motor to slow down or stop.
  • Drive current limit A089 [Current Limit] set too low, tripping the drive before an actual motor stall occurs.
  • Motor shaft, coupling, or gearbox failure preventing proper power transmission to the load.
  • Insufficient motor torque at low speeds due to poor drive tuning or incorrect parameter settings (e.g., P010 [Boost]).

Reparasjonssteg & Sjekkliste

Klikk på steg for å spore fremgangen.

  1. 1

Inspect the mechanical load connected to the motor shaft for obstructions, binding, or seized components by attempting to rotate the shaft manually.

  2. 2

Measure the motor output current on each phase (U, V, W) using a clamp meter during operation and compare it to the drive's current limit A089 [Current Limit].

  3. 3

Verify drive parameter A089 [Current Limit] is set to an appropriate value (typically 150-200% of motor FLA) and parameter P010 [Boost] for adequate starting torque.

  4. 4

Check for physical damage to the motor shaft, coupling, or gearbox that might impede rotation.

  5. 5

Temporarily disconnect the motor from the load (if safe and feasible) to determine if the motor runs without fault, isolating the issue to the mechanical load.
