Operation Panel Lock
Mitsubishi Electric · FR-D700 Inverter
What does Operation panel lock mean?
Operation has been attempted while the inverter's operation panel is locked. This is an error message preventing unintended changes or operations, but the inverter output is not shut off. It requires an unlock procedure to regain control of the panel.
Common Causes
- Operator attempted to change parameters or command operations while the control panel lock function is active (Pr. 165 or Pr. 777).
- The parameter unit (PU) lock switch is physically engaged, preventing input.
- Unintended activation of the lock function due to accidental button press combination or external command (e.g., via communication).
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check parameter Pr. 165 (Parameter write inhibit selection) and Pr. 777 (Operation panel lock function) and set them to '0' (no lock).
- 2
If using a detachable PU (Parameter Unit), verify the physical lock switch on the PU itself is in the 'unlocked' position.
- 3
Power cycle the inverter to clear temporary states, then re-attempt operation.
- 4
Use configuration software (e.g., FR-Configurator2) to unlock the panel if direct panel access is prevented.
- 5
If an external communication source is locking the panel, check its configuration for a parameter lock command.
