U6

Abnormality of power module

Mitsubishi Electric · PUZ-HA30/36NHA4 Outdoor Unit

What does U6 mean?

This error signifies a detected abnormality within the power module, usually indicated by an overcurrent condition (often coinciding with UF or UP errors). This can result from various issues, including incorrect refrigerant charge, power supply problems, compressor wiring faults, or a defective power module itself. If unaddressed, this can lead to compressor or power module failure.

Additional Steps

Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.

  1. 3

Inspect the compressor wiring (U·V·W phases) for any looseness, disconnection, or incorrect phase connection. Correct wiring as necessary, referring to section 10-9 (Outdoor power circuit board).

  2. 4

Perform a detailed check of the compressor's condition and operation. Refer to section 10-6 for diagnostic procedures.

  3. 5

If all other components are verified to be in good working order, replace the outdoor power circuit board.
