Password locked

Password Locked

Mitsubishi Electric · FR-D700 Inverter

What does Password locked mean?

An attempt has been made to read or write a parameter that is restricted by a password. This security feature prevents unauthorized modification of critical settings, but the inverter output is not shut off. Access to protected parameters is denied until the correct password is entered.

Common Causes

  • Attempting to modify a critical inverter parameter (e.g., motor tuning, protection settings) without entering the correct password.
  • Incorrect password entry exceeding a defined number of attempts, leading to a temporary lockout.
  • System security policy requiring password entry for read access to sensitive diagnostic data.
  • Previous service personnel enabled password protection (e.g., via Pr. 120 Password function selection) and did not record or share the password.

Repair Steps & Checklist

  4. 4

Input the correct password through the inverter's operation panel (PU) or via communication software.

  5. 5

After successful password entry, re-attempt the parameter read or write operation.
