Resolver fault
Lenze · SHB4800/4900
What does Sd2 mean?
This fault indicates a problem with the resolver feedback device, which provides position and speed information to the drive. This could be due to wiring issues, a faulty resolver, or mechanical damage. By default, this critical condition triggers a full TRIP, inhibiting all ignition pulses and resetting the Ready signal, as precise resolver feedback is crucial for motor control. Manual reset is required.
Additional Steps
Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.
- 3
Check resolver signals (sine/cosine): If possible, use an oscilloscope to check the sine and cosine output signals from the resolver for proper waveform and amplitude.
- 4
Inspect resolver mounting: Ensure the resolver is securely mounted to the motor shaft and not damaged or misaligned.
- 5
Replace resolver: If wiring and signals are confirmed good, the resolver itself may be faulty and require replacement.
