OH4 Heatsink temperature > C0122
Lenze · 9300 Series
What does x054 mean?
The heatsink temperature has exceeded the specific threshold value set in parameter C0122. This is an advance warning for heatsink overheating, which can be caused by high ambient temperatures (Tu > +40°C or +50°C), a dirty heatsink, or an incorrect mounting position. This monitoring can be switched off via C0582.
Common Causes
- Control cabinet ambient temperature (Tu) is high, pushing the drive's heatsink temperature close to the warning threshold set in C0122.
- Partial blockage of heatsink fins with dust or debris, slightly reducing cooling efficiency without completely stopping airflow.
- Drive cooling fan operating at reduced speed or intermittently, not providing optimal airflow.
- Drive operating continuously near its maximum rated current, generating more heat than usual.
- Parameter C0122 (Heatsink temperature warning threshold) is set too aggressively (too low) for the application's operating conditions.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Measure the control cabinet ambient temperature (e.g., with a thermometer) and compare it to the drive's specification.
- 2
Clean the drive's heatsink fins with compressed air to ensure maximum surface area for heat dissipation.
- 3
Monitor the drive's internal cooling fan operation, checking for consistent rotation and lack of obstruction.
- 4
Review parameter C0122 (Heatsink temperature warning threshold) and consider raising it slightly if current operating conditions are normal.
- 5
Ensure adequate ventilation in the control cabinet, checking fan filters and ensuring sufficient clearance around the drive for airflow.
