CONVERTER OVERLOAD
Fanuc · Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D Maintenance
What does 431 n AXIS: CNV. OVERLOAD mean?
This warning signal on the Fanuc Series 0i-D/0i Mate-D αi servo system indicates an overload condition on the converter (SVWRN4, SVWRN3, SVWRN2 active). An alarm will occur one minute after this warning is issued if the overload persists, potentially damaging the converter.
Common Causes
- Excessive mechanical load on the axis driven by the converter.
- Aggressive acceleration/deceleration parameters leading to high current peaks.
- Binding or friction in the mechanical system.
- Incorrect sizing of the converter for the application's demands.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Monitor the machine's operating conditions and loads to identify periods of excessive demand that could overload the converter.
- 2
Inspect the mechanical system for any binding, excessive friction, or blockages that could increase motor and converter load.
- 3
Review machine parameters related to acceleration/deceleration times and cutting conditions; optimize them to reduce peak loads.
- 4
Check the sizing of the converter against the application requirements; ensure it is adequate for the peak and continuous loads.
- 5
Measure the input current to the converter during operation to confirm actual load levels are within specification.
