SP0003
DC Link Fuse Blown
Fanuc · AC Spindle Motor Alpha i-Beta i Series Parameters
What does SP0003 mean?
The DC link fuse on the spindle amplifier is blown, indicating an overcurrent event or a short circuit in the DC bus. This results in complete loss of power to the motor.
Common Causes
- Short circuit in the spindle motor windings or power cables.
- Faulty spindle amplifier output stage (e.g., IGBT failure).
- Overvoltage on the DC link causing excessive current draw.
- Ground fault within the spindle motor or cabling.
- Incorrect fuse rating or counterfeit fuse installed.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Measure the resistance between each motor phase (U, V, W) and ground.
- 2
Visually inspect the motor power cables for insulation damage.
- 3
Measure the DC link voltage (terminals P+, P-) under load.
- 4
Check the integrity of the spindle amplifier's internal DC bus capacitors.
- 5
Verify the rating of the installed DC link fuse matches the amplifier specification.
