Temperature sensor board 2 fault

Vacon · NXP AFE-II Drive

¿Qué significa F65 ?

The temperature protection function for sensor board 2 has detected an issue, which could be an exceeded temperature limit, an unwired or non-functional sensor, or a short circuit in the sensor wiring (A1-A3 conditions). This compromises temperature monitoring.

Causas comunes

  • Actual temperature measured by the sensor connected to board 2 (e.g., gearbox oil, bearing) has exceeded its programmed trip limit (e.g., P3-11).
  • Open circuit in the wiring connecting the temperature sensor (e.g., Pt100, NTC) to sensor board 2, indicating a broken wire.
  • Short circuit in the temperature sensor wiring to sensor board 2, resulting in an invalid low resistance reading.
  • Failure of the temperature sensor itself (e.g., internal break, resistance drift) providing incorrect feedback.
  • Defective temperature sensor board 2, preventing accurate temperature measurement or communication.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Measure the resistance of the temperature sensor connected to sensor board 2 (e.g., terminals T3, T4) and compare it to its specification (e.g., 100 Ohm for Pt100 at 0°C).

  2. 2

Inspect the wiring from the temperature sensor to sensor board 2 for any cuts, breaks, or loose connections at the terminal block.

  3. 3

Verify the actual temperature of the monitored component (e.g., gearbox casing) using an external infrared thermometer.

  4. 4

Review parameter P3-11 (Temperature Sensor 2 Trip Limit) to ensure it is set appropriately for the application and sensor type.

  5. 5

Temporarily disconnect the sensor wiring from sensor board 2 and connect a precision resistor (e.g., 100 Ohm) to simulate a healthy sensor, then observe the fault status.
