HF damping module: Heat sink overtemperature
Siemens · FC1765DC Controller
¿Qué significa 237056 ?
This alarm indicates that the heat sink temperature of the HF damping module has exceeded its permissible limit. Common causes include insufficient cooling due to fan failure or blockage, excessive module overload, or an excessively high ambient temperature in the enclosure. While initially an alarm, prolonged overtemperature can lead to component degradation, reduced lifespan, and eventual failure of the damping module, impacting drive performance and potentially leading to a system shutdown.
Causas comunes
- Cooling fan for the HF damping module has failed, is operating at reduced speed (e.g., motor bearing seizure), or is disconnected (e.g., X3 connector).
- Airflow through the module's heat sink is restricted due to heavy dust accumulation, foreign objects, or blocked cabinet ventilation grilles.
- Ambient air temperature inside the control cabinet exceeds the module's maximum operating temperature (e.g., above 50°C), overwhelming the cooling system.
- Continuous operation above the module's rated current (r0067) due to increased motor load or significant harmonic distortion, generating excessive heat.
- Thermal sensor or its wiring (e.g., X20 terminal) on the heat sink is faulty, providing erroneous high temperature readings.
Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación
Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.
- 1
Power down the module and visually inspect the cooling fan blades for damage and verify free rotation by hand; check fan power supply at X3 terminals.
- 2
Clean the heat sink fins and air intake/exhaust grilles of the HF damping module using compressed air or an industrial vacuum cleaner.
- 3
Monitor the ambient temperature inside the control cabinet using an external thermometer (e.g., Fluke 62 Max) and ensure it is within specified limits.
- 4
Measure the resistance of the thermal sensor (e.g., NTC thermistor) on the heat sink at its connections (e.g., X20) and compare to datasheet values.
- 5
Reduce the motor load or adjust the process to operate within the HF damping module's continuous current rating (check r0067 against nameplate).
- 6
Inspect the thermal compound or pads between the power components and the heat sink for signs of drying or degradation.
