An internal software timeout has occurred within the drive's control unit, indicating that a software task did not complete within its expected timeframe. This can be caused by transient software issues, corrupted firmware, or underlying hardware problems. An internal software timeout can lead to unpredictable drive behavior or complete system stoppage.
Causas comunes
- Overloaded control unit CPU due to complex motion profiles or excessive communication tasks.
- Conflicting software tasks or high priority interrupts delaying critical background processes.
- Faulty internal memory access or cache corruption preventing timely task execution.
- Transient software bug or firmware anomaly requiring a system reset.
- Incompatible hardware components or modules causing unexpected delays in data processing.

Check the CPU load monitoring diagnostic in the engineering software (e.g., via STARTER or TIA Portal) to identify spikes.

Reduce the complexity of the current application program (e.g., motion profile points, PLC cycle time for communication) if the CPU load is consistently high.
