Motor Short Circuit (Hard Detection)
Schneider Electric · Altivar Machine ATV320 Variable Speed Drive
¿Qué significa SCF1 ?
A hard detection of a motor short circuit. This is a severe fault indicating a direct short circuit between motor phases or from a phase to ground. This can cause immediate and significant damage to the drive's power stage and the motor. This fault can be manually cleared if the 'Reset restricted fault configuration' (HrFC) parameter is set to 'Yes'.
Causas comunes
- Short circuit between two motor phases (e.g., U-V, V-W) due to insulation breakdown within motor windings.
- Short circuit from a motor phase to ground (e.g., U to PE) due to damaged motor insulation or cable.
- Motor cable insulation failure (e.g., abrasion, pinch point) causing phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground short.
- Water ingress or conductive contamination inside the motor terminal box or motor windings.
Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación
Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.
- 1
1. Disconnect the motor cables from the drive's output terminals (U, V, W).
- 2
2. Use a megohmmeter to measure insulation resistance between each motor phase (U-V, V-W, W-U) and between each phase and motor frame ground (PE).
- 3
3. Measure the resistance of each motor winding (U-V, V-W, W-U) with a low-resistance ohmmeter; compare to motor specifications for discrepancies.
- 4
4. Visually inspect motor cables from the drive to the motor for signs of damage, abrasion, or moisture ingress.
- 5
5. Test the continuity of the motor cable shielding to the drive's PE terminal and the motor frame.
