Serial Communication Error

¿Qué significa Ed ?

This error indicates a failure in serial communication, affecting either the link between the outdoor controller circuit board and the outdoor power circuit board, or the M-NET board. Common causes include wire breaks, loose connector contacts, or defective communication circuits on the involved boards. Without proper communication, the system cannot be controlled or monitored effectively, leading to operational failure or incorrect responses.

• Loose, corroded, or disconnected communication cable (e.g., RS-485, CAN bus) between the outdoor controller and power boards.
• Electromagnetic interference (EMI) disrupting the serial data signals, especially if cables are unshielded or routed near power lines.
• Incorrect termination resistor setting (e.g., 120Ω switch) on one or both ends of the communication bus.
• Damaged communication transceiver chip (e.g., MAX485) on either the outdoor controller board or the outdoor power board.
• Incorrect addressing or baud rate configuration parameters (e.g., P7-01, P7-02) for the serial link between the boards.

   De-energize the unit. Visually inspect the serial communication cables (e.g., CN505, CN506) between the outdoor controller and power boards for damage.

   Verify the continuity of each wire within the communication cable from connector to connector using a multimeter.

   Check the communication termination resistor switch settings on both the outdoor controller and power boards (e.g., ON for ends, OFF for middle).

   Use an oscilloscope to capture the differential voltage signals (A and B lines) on the RS-485 bus, looking for valid data packets and signal integrity.

   Confirm the communication address and baud rate parameters (e.g., P7-01, P7-02) match on all connected devices.
