Analog Input 1 Wire Breakage

Lenze · 8200 Series

¿Qué significa sd5 ?

A wire breakage has been detected on analog input 1, specifically when the current on the input is less than 4 mA for a 4-20 mA setpoint range. This indicates an open circuit in the analog signal path. Loss of this input means the drive will not receive its commanded setpoint, potentially leading to incorrect speed or torque.

Causas comunes

  • Open circuit in the 4-20 mA signal loop for Analog Input 1 (e.g., cut wire, loose terminal connection).
  • Failure of the external sensor or transducer providing the 4-20 mA signal to Analog Input 1.
  • Incorrect wiring configuration for Analog Input 1, such as connecting a voltage source to a current input.
  • Internal component failure on the controller's analog input board affecting Analog Input 1.
  • External power supply to the 4-20 mA sensor loop failing or becoming disconnected.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Verify the wiring continuity of the 4-20 mA signal loop from the sensor output to controller terminals AI1+ and AI1- using a multimeter.

  2. 2

Measure the current directly at the sensor output terminals (before connecting to controller) to confirm it generates a valid 4-20 mA signal.

  3. 3

Check the external 24VDC power supply (or specific sensor supply) providing power to the 4-20 mA sensor, ensuring it is active and correct voltage.

  4. 4

Confirm Analog Input 1 (e.g., Parameter P2-01) is correctly configured for 4-20 mA operation and not 0-10V.

  5. 5

Inspect controller terminals AI1+ and AI1- for secure wire connections and absence of corrosion or damage.

  6. 6

Temporarily connect a known good 4-20 mA current calibrator to AI1+ and AI1- to isolate if the fault is controller or field wiring/sensor related.
