Encoder 1 failure: quadrant error

Indramat · DIAX 04

¿Qué significa F229 ?

The DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive's primary encoder (Encoder 1) has detected an invalid sequence or state in its quadrature signals (A, B channels). This indicates a problem with the encoder's signal generation or the wiring, resulting in an unreliable position or velocity feedback. The drive faults to prevent incorrect motor control or machine positioning.

Causas comunes

  • Damage to the encoder 1 cable, resulting in an open circuit, short circuit, or signal interference between phases A and B.
  • Faulty encoder 1 unit, producing incorrect quadrature signals.
  • Loose or corroded connections at the encoder or at the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive's encoder input terminals.
  • Excessive electrical noise or interference on the encoder feedback lines, disrupting signal integrity.
  • Improper termination or grounding of the encoder cable shield.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Inspect the encoder 1 cable for any physical damage, kinks, or crushing. Verify continuity and check for shorts between signal lines and ground.

  2. 2

Check all connections at both the encoder and the DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive for looseness, corrosion, or incorrect wiring.

  3. 3

Verify the encoder supply voltage at the encoder connector. Ensure it is stable and within the encoder's specified range.

  4. 4

Monitor the encoder A/B signals using an oscilloscope, if possible, to check for clean quadrature signals without dropouts or noise.

  5. 5

Ensure proper shielding and grounding of the encoder cable to minimize electrical interference. If the issue persists, consider replacing encoder 1.
