Regenerative Discharge Unit Overheat

Fanuc · Alpha i series AC Servo Motor

¿Qué significa 404 ?

The regenerative discharge unit has overheated, typically triggered when the average regenerative discharge energy is excessively high, such as during frequent acceleration/deceleration cycles. This can also indicate connection issues or component failure within the unit.

Causas comunes

  • Average regenerative discharge energy is too high, often due to high acceleration/deceleration frequency.
  • Improper connection of the separate regenerative discharge unit.
  • Defective thermostat within the separate regenerative discharge unit.
  • Defective resistor within the separate regenerative discharge unit (resistance outside ±20% of predetermined value).
  • CXA20 and/or CZ6 connectors not short-circuited by dummy connectors when a separate regenerative discharge unit is not used (specific to SVM1-4i/SVM1-20i or SVM1-40i/SVM1-80i models).

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

For SVM1-4i/SVM1-20i (without separate unit): Check if the CXA20 connector is short-circuited with a dummy connector.

  2. 2

For SVM1-40i/SVM1-80i (without separate unit): Check if the CXA20 and CZ6 connectors are short-circuited with dummy connectors.

  3. 3

Decrease the acceleration/deceleration frequency to reduce average regenerative discharge energy.

  4. 4

Verify the physical connection of the separate regenerative discharge unit.

  5. 5

Disconnect the separate regenerative discharge unit; check the thermostat. If the thermostat is open when the unit is cool, replace the unit.

  6. 6

Disconnect the separate regenerative discharge unit; measure its resistance. If it is not within ±20% of the predetermined resistance, replace the unit.
