AMA: Motor too small

Danfoss · VLT HVAC Drive High Power

¿Qué significa 54 ?

The connected motor is too small for the Automatic Motor Adaptation (AMA) function to operate successfully. This mismatch in sizing or parameter limits means the drive cannot accurately identify the motor's characteristics, leading to an inability to optimize control.

Causas comunes

  • The connected motor's nominal current (P1-24) or power (P1-22) is below the drive's minimum sensing threshold for AMA.
  • Drive's current measurement circuitry is unable to accurately resolve the small current drawn by the motor during AMA.
  • Motor impedance is too high for the drive's AMA algorithm to function effectively.
  • Drive is significantly oversized for the connected motor, leading to calibration difficulties.
  • AMA algorithm requires a minimum motor size that is not met by the connected motor.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Verify the drive's minimum recommended motor power or current rating against the connected motor's nominal values (P1-22, P1-24).

  2. 2

    2. Ensure Parameter P1-24 (Motor Current) is accurately set to the motor nameplate FLA, not an arbitrarily low value.

  3. 3

    3. Measure motor winding resistance to ensure it is not excessively high (e.g., indicative of an open phase or very small motor).

  4. 4

    4. If possible, attempt AMA with a different, larger motor to confirm the drive's AMA functionality.

  5. 5

    5. Consider replacing the drive with one that is appropriately sized for the connected motor or check for a 'small motor' AMA setting.
