ALARM 55

AMA Parameter out of range

Danfoss · VLT HVAC Basic FC 101

¿Qué significa ALARM 55 ?

The parameter values found from the motor during the Automatic Motor Adaptation (AMA) process are outside the acceptable range for the frequency converter. This indicates an incompatibility between the motor and drive or severely incorrect initial motor data settings.

Causas comunes

  • Significant mismatch between the frequency converter's capabilities and the motor's electrical characteristics (e.g., very high inductance, very low resistance).
  • Incorrect basic motor parameters (P1-20 to P1-25) entered before initiating AMA.
  • Motor cable is excessively long, causing significant voltage drop and impedance shift, distorting measurements.
  • Motor windings are damaged (e.g., partial short, open circuit) leading to anomalous electrical characteristics.
  • AMA process interrupted or external electrical noise interfering with precise measurements during the test.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Re-check and verify all motor nameplate data entered into parameters P1-20 through P1-25.

  2. 2

Measure the resistance between motor phases U-V, V-W, W-U at the motor terminals; values should be balanced and within a reasonable range.

  3. 3

Inspect the motor cable for damage, proper shielding, and ensure its length is within the drive's specified limits.

  4. 4

Perform an insulation resistance test (Megger test) on the motor windings to ground and phase-to-phase.

  5. 5

Try running the motor in a basic V/Hz mode (without AMA) to confirm fundamental operation.
