A fault has occurred in the control circuit responsible for managing the braking resistor. This circuit typically involves a braking chopper that switches the resistor in and out to dissipate regenerative energy. An error here means the resistor may not be activated when needed or may be permanently connected, leading to overvoltage or overheating.

   Inspect the wiring and connections between the Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive MPx02 and the external braking resistor for looseness, corrosion, or damage at both ends.

   Measure the resistance of the external braking resistor (with power off and discharged) and compare it against the specified nominal value. Verify it is neither open nor short-circuited.

   Check the drive parameters in the IndraDrive MPx02 for correct configuration of the braking resistor, including its nominal resistance and power, ensuring they match the installed component.
