HW OverCurrent

Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 4 Adjustable Frequency

¿Qué significa F12 ?

A hardware-level overcurrent condition has been detected, indicating an immediate excessive current draw. This could stem from incorrect programming, a severe motor overload, improper DC boost settings, or excessively high DC brake voltage.

Causas comunes

  • Excessive current drawn by motor exceeding drive limits.
  • Short circuit in motor windings or power cable.
  • Mechanical overload causing increased motor torque demand.
  • Incorrect motor parameter configuration (e.g., P0-11, P0-12).

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Verify motor load requirements are within the drive's continuous and peak current ratings.

  2. 2

Check parameter A084 [Start Boost] settings; ensure it is not excessively high, especially for variable torque applications.

  3. 3

Review parameter A081 [DC Brake Level] setting; ensure it is not configured for a value too high (max DriveAmps * 1.8).

  4. 4

Inspect the motor and output wiring between the drive and motor for any short circuits or insulation damage.
