Testxx.ShortCircuit

Safety Test Output Short Circuit Fault

Allen-Bradley · Compact 5000 Digital I/O Modules

¿Qué significa Testxx.ShortCircuit ?

This boolean tag indicates that a short circuit has been detected on the safety test output Testxx. A tag value of '1' means a short circuit is present, and if the output is in Pulse Test or Power Supply mode, it may not be able to be set to a safe state.

Causas comunes

  • Test output Testxx wiring shorted to 24V DC due to insulation breakdown or incorrect connection.
  • Test output Testxx wiring shorted to system ground due to insulation breakdown or contact.
  • Test output Testxx wiring shorted to another output or an adjacent signal wire.
  • Damage to the field wiring or the connected load causing a low-resistance path.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Identify the specific test output Testxx where the fault is detected via Studio 5000 Logix Designer diagnostics.

  2. 2

Examine the physical wiring connected to test output Testxx for any damage, improper termination, or contact that could cause a short to 24V DC or ground.

  3. 3

With power removed from the module and field devices, use a multimeter to measure resistance between the test output terminal Testxx and 24V DC, and between Testxx and system ground; expect an open circuit (high resistance).

  4. 4

If the test output was shorted to 24V DC, cycle power to the entire module to reset the diagnostic.
