• Defective hot swap terminal unit hardware (e.g., failed communication interface, faulty detection circuitry).
• Incorrect addressing (e.g., DIP switch settings P_ADDR_HEX) or configuration of the terminal unit in the PLC software.
• System firmware or hardware configuration expects a hot swap unit, but a non-hot swap backplane is installed.
