CPF23

Control Circuit Error

Yaskawa · V1000

What does CPF23 mean?

This fault indicates a general hardware problem within the drive's control circuit. Such internal issues can prevent the drive from functioning correctly and may lead to complete operational failure. Continued use with this fault can exacerbate internal damage to sensitive electronic components.

Common Causes

  • Internal power supply (e.g., +5VDC, +15VDC) failure on the drive's control board.
  • Malfunctioning DSP (Digital Signal Processor) or microcontroller on the control board.
  • Damaged or degraded electrolytic capacitors on the control board affecting stability.
  • PCB trace damage or cold solder joints on critical control components.
  • Internal circuit board contamination (e.g., dust, metallic particles) causing short circuits.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Disconnect all incoming AC power (L1, L2, L3) and control power (e.g., 24VDC) to the drive.

  2. 2

    2. Visually inspect the control board for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or signs of liquid ingress.

  3. 3

    3. Measure the resistance of key components (e.g., large resistors, inductors) on the control board with a multimeter (power off).

  4. 4

    4. If the drive has a removable control board, carefully reseat it firmly in its connector.

  5. 5

    5. Contact the drive manufacturer or authorized service center for control board replacement or drive repair/replacement.
