CPF25

Terminal Board not Connected

Yaskawa · GA500 Maintenance and Troubleshooting

What does CPF25 mean?

This fault indicates that the terminal board is not properly connected to the drive. A loose or disconnected terminal board will disrupt essential I/O functionality and communication, preventing normal drive operation.

Common Causes

  • Terminal board connector not fully seated in its receptacle on the drive main board.
  • Physical damage to the terminal board connector pins or the drive's mating receptacle.
  • Broken latching mechanism on the terminal board preventing secure connection.
  • Accumulation of dust or debris in the connector socket preventing full electrical contact.
  • Damage to the flexible PCB cable (if present) connecting the terminal board to the main board.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Power down the drive and wait for DC bus capacitors to discharge (verify 0V at P+, N-).

  2. 2

    2. Carefully unseat the terminal board from the drive.

  3. 3

    3. Inspect the terminal board connector pins and the drive's receptacle for bent pins, damage, or debris.

  4. 4

    4. Clean the connector contacts using a non-residue electronic cleaner and a soft brush.

  5. 5

    5. Firmly re-seat the terminal board, ensuring it clicks into place and is flush with the drive housing.

  6. 6

    6. Check for continuity across critical I/O terminals (e.g., DI1 to COM, 24VDC to COM) after reconnection.
